Teaching

Elizabeth Walker is an experienced teacher. She has taught and adjudicated at all levels and for students of all ages, on historical and modern flute and recorder.

Elizabeth offers lessons in various ways, privately, on Zoom via Flutes Online and via one of her in person courses in Benslow or Tuscany. Her philosophy revolves around finding an expressive use of air, resonance and variety. She introduces specific breathing techniques, vocalisations, and helps to introduce a variety of articulations and finger-patterns. Her hourly rate is flexible, depending on the length of lesson, frequency and ability.

Wells Cathedral School

Elizabeth is fortunate to be one of the flute teachers at the specialist music school in Wells. She prepares her pupils for a career in music, and they have gone onto music college, performed in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and reached the final rounds of the BBC Young Musician competition, among other achievements.
